Greetings

Welcome to my new blog! This will be focused on my latest obsession, er hobby: miniatures and dollhouses! Though my interest in miniatures has existed since I was a young girl, I've only recently (November this year, actually!) decided to roll up my sleeves to collect miniatures and try my hand at building and finishing dollhouses.

So far I've finished two roomboxes, one for each of my parents. They were completed in time for Christmas. You can see pictures of them here.

My first dollhouse as an adult has actually already been built. It's the "English Pub" from Tom's Mill, exclusively sold through Earth & Tree in Amherst, NH. I decided to forgo the kit, and try seeing if decorating and finishing really is my thing. I am turning it into an herbal/New Age/fair trade shop. It's coming along nicely actually. It's a small two room house (here's Earth and Tree's version) with a loft in the larger room. The smaller room will be used as a reading room for customers to chat and preview books. I've got a few items in the house, but so much more to add! That's my first goal with this blog - to update the status on that house.

The second is to chronicle building my first dollhouse, the Glencroft from Greenleaf. My boyfriend, Jason, bought it for me for my birthday. I am looking forward to constructing what seems like a challenging dollhouse. I've been reading the blogs of those that have built it so I have some idea where the problem areas are...but I am remaining optimistic!

The third goal is to post any cool links, tutorials or shops I visit while gathering all of the goodies I need to complete my projects (and probably start a few more...*ahem*)...

Note: Any links I post on my blog sidebar are of shops, websites, etc. from which I've shopped, completed tutorials or found very useful. In other words, if I post them, I approve! :)

Happy New Year!
