Yay! Almost done with shingling!

So I woke up early today and continued on the Glencroft shingling. I spent much of the day on it and made a lot of progress. I should mention that Netflix can be your best friend when doing something as time-consuming and repetitive as shingling. :)

All I have left to do is one panel as you can see in the pics below. I also did some paint touch-ups. :) I am very happy to get this process over with, since I think, so far, it was my least favorite part - haha. I hit some serious momentum once I got a routine down, though I am tempted to try some other shingling techniques in the future (those quick strips from Greenleaf look tempting and easy. I also like the asphalt shingles, though they are a little pricier).

I am done with shingling for the night, I think. Tomorrow, we've got errands to run and things to do, so I am not sure how much I'll tackle, but Spring Break is around the corner and and I foresee some extra crafty time. :)

Once I done adding in this last shingles, I need to figure out how to finish off the edges and stain the shingles (a slightly darker brown). And, of course, there's still the chimney to finish (bricks? plaster?) and the front door to add on.

Happy weekend, everyone!

  7. I love your shingling. I've been intimidated by them but I'm designing my first mini project and shingles will be needed.
